Early Voting & Robocalls

Today is my friend and former boss Ken Blackwell’s birthday, so it was nice to hear from him yesterday. Unfortunately, the call was in the form of a robocall in support of John McCain. And good timing too… as I didn’t send in my absentee ballot yet.

So did I vote for Ken’s preferred candidate? Absolutely not! I voted for Ron Paul. Why? Because when I was asked if America can be more hopeful and united, force banks to undo contracts with irresponsible home owners, kill unborn children, tax the emission of the same CO2 which we all exhale, and take away more profits from businesses, I said, “No, we can’t!”

And of course I also voted against the schools, the mentally handicapped, and everything else.

Great points Matt. It is called personal responsibility. I missed the part of the Constitution that allows Americans to walk away from contracts and mortgages. I did not find anywhere that said Americans have an absolute right to an HD flat screen TV, new cars, a huge house, free health care and other handouts from the Government. I am tired of the socialist message. Too many Americans want something for nothing.

The freaking Plain Dealer yesterday issued a “ground breaking” editorial which said “Poor kids can move to Higher Income Brackets - with a College Degree”. Really??? Who knew??? The last time I checked, it was called getting a good education and hard work. None of the media supportred presidential candidates have said this though. They ALL believe that there is a “problem” and only they can fix it.

Memo to candidates - the only problem that exists is that too many Americans are allergic to hard work, sacrafice, determination, getting a good education … I could go on and on…..

To all of those who can’t affoard college… you are not alone. Do what I did, take out a student loan, go to college, get good grades, get a good job and then pay off your loan and enjoy your life…. you earned it! Until our government starts holding Universities accountable for the public dollars given to them, tuition will continue to rise dramatically.

I also received Ken’s robo call. I was disappointed that he is not standing with us for Mike Huckabee.

I don’t understand why there is such a support among Christian conservatives in Ohio for Huckabee. I get emails from them all the time, and I’m disappointed to see these genuinely kind, God-fearing conservatives fall for identity politics. Huck is just Bob Taft with a theology background. And Taft probably wasn’t as strong as of protectionist!

What is the reasoning behind not voting for the MRDD levy? Just curious.

Supporting local schools is the best way to keep the state out of them.

If good districts stay good, then the residents won’t allow the “dumbing” down of state control.

We all know that robn hood will just dump dollars into school systems tha are still controlld my useless teachers unionsand democratic mayors.

I will always vote to support a local levy to keep the state from getting control.

You say: Huck is just Bob Taft with a theology background.
Bob Taft couldn’t get elected dog catcher in Ohio and Mike Huckabee has won millions of votes and many states in the election for president. Not a fair comparison. Mike Huckabee has done remarkably well given he’s gone up against big odds and big money. Your comparison shows a lack of good common sense.

“What is the reasoning behind not voting for the MRDD levy? Just curious.”

Clearly it’s because conservatives hate the mentally handicapped, the children, the elderly, the environment, the working poor, immigrants, minorities, and just about everything else.

Speaking in general (not on the MRDD levy)
I support efficient, effective systems and until I see proof — I refuse to offer up my money since my taxes are covering more crap than I care to think about.

I support workers, not unions. I support schools, not the wasteful spending most administrators sign off on.

    Andy-
I promise, as a conservative, I do not hate the “mentally handicapped, the children, the elderly, the environment, the working poor, immigrants, minorities…”
I’m sure that Naugle doesn’t hate those groups either.

Ken Blackwell’s message ” good evening friend, I am a member of the man-boy love association, will you pleas join me in voting for Mike Huckabee on March 4, 2008.” LOL!

I voted for Ron Paul as well. I can’t stomach voting for Huckabee (pandering to anybody or group to get votes) or McCain (a self-admitted liberal).

    Kyle is hilarious.
