Marc Dann Admits that he is Unqualified to be Attorney General
Published April 10th, 2008 @ 10:08 pm. Tags: marc dannThe very talented Dan Williamson of The (Columbus) Other Paper has a good summary of Condogate here. Here is an interesting excerpt:
Since taking office, Dann has generated a steady stream of newspaper headlines, and not only for his botched hires. There was an ill-timed fundraiser held by supporters of legalized gambling, a profane tirade against a TV reporter, a tasteless e-mail exchange with Jennings in which Dann compared himself to Jesus on Good Friday and an expensive state-purchased SUV—famously christened “The Sunshine Express”—decorated with flames.
In an interview in early January, Dann faulted the media for targeting him with meaningless, sensationalist stories. But he also said he deserved a share of the blame for his blunders.
“I’m going to become a better manager,” he said at the time. “It’s something I’m working at, and that was fair criticism.” He noted that his previous law experience was a “four-lawyer law firm” in Youngstown where “I wasn’t even the managing partner.”
Is it comforting to know that Ohio’s chief law enforcement officer needs on the job training? Things have gone so badly for Dann that even he is admitting that he is unqualified to serve as Attorney General.
How did Betty Montgomery lose to this sleazeball?

Two words: Mark Weaver.

Also, with respect to Dann’s managerial skills, I think he’s been taking lessons from Michael Scott (only he’s not nearly as funny).
The way it appears, Dann can’t even manage a scheduler. He either sleeps with (and promotes) or fires them. He’s had about a scheduler a month for each month he’s been in office.
