Isn’t it hilarious when liberal office holders think they live by a different set of rules than we do?

From the Dayton Daily News:

Attorney General Marc Dann authorized his driver to carry a loaded, concealed weapon at all times as part of his job duties, even though he is not a law enforcement officer.

John Conley, 61, got a permit to carry a concealed weapon from Franklin County on Jan. 2. State law prohibits non-law enforcement people from carrying guns into state-owned buildings such as the Statehouse and the Rhodes Tower where Dann has his office.[...]

Conley acknowledged that he has carried his weapon in the Rhodes Tower and on the state plane since January.

For those of you keeping score at home, Dann’s last driver was fired because it was discovered that he KILLED somebody.

Of course it is silly for there to be laws against concealed carry license holders from carrying guns anywhere, as criminals don’t see much of a need to take a twelve hour class and properly register their firearms. And I can understand why Conley would want a gun, as security in most Ohio government buildings is shockingly weak… For example, when I worked in the Verne Riffe building, security would always carefully check women’s purses, but I could have carried in multiple Wendy’s take-out bags full of hand grenades and large handguns without anyone noticing.

But as long as handguns are banned in the Rhodes Tower, Ohio’s chief law enforcement officer and his driver shouldn’t be allowed to ignore the law.

It is a shame Dann didn’t issue Cindy Stankoski a handgun. During the night in question, she could have shot Anthony Gutierrez… in the crotch.
