It takes a special kind of incompetence to replace the court appearance of a former OSU football player accused of shooting a police officer as the lead story in the Columbus media. Marc Dann has managed to do just that.
Not too sure if everyone saw this, but RAB was cited in Jenn Urban’s testimony as the blog that got the ball rolling on this in November/December.
For everyone who gave Naugle a hard time and talked about libel lawsuits, enjoy your humble pie.
I worked as an AAG in the office and left right before this all hit the papers. Thank goodness!
When I worked for the State Senate I briefly exchanged pleasantries with then Senator Dann at a reception. I told him I was in law school and if I remember correctly (and I remember it struck me as something interesting so I am sure I heard it right) Senator Dann told me his wife wrote a paper for him when he was in law school. I could be wrong but I am sure I heard him to say, basically, his wife did some of his work.
At Capital University it would have been a big no,no to have someone else do your work for you. Now before all the libs jump over me for slander, defamation, blah blah, I am just reporting it as I remembered it and with that caveat.
Take it for what it is worth.
And where are the Naugle haters? They’re at home washing their birkenstocks.
Good point Joe. I saw some posts saying the media and people like at the Naugle blog were committing defamation. Hmmm, kinda silent now.
Did anyone catch in the Dispatch article today (Sun) that the AG’s office was threatening that there were legally actionable inaccuracies in the original article that brought this all to light. They kind of just tossed that in but I read it and thought wow, why didn’t they make a bigger deal out of this - sure sounds like trying to use the AG’s power to intimidate the papers into not running this story to me. Not surprising for someone who admits he never thought he’d win and was completely unprepared and unqualified to serve once he surpisingly did.
That video is hilarious, and no matter what happens, I expect to see it again in 2010.
