A few days ago, I reported that Gov. Strickland had his security team follow Marc Dann last year after I broke the story of his affair. They confirmed it and it appears that Strickland has known of Dann’s affair with his scheduler atleast since last December.

I think this post at The Dispatch’s blog is the first effort by Strickland’s office to cover these facts up. So what did Ted Strickland know, and when did he know it? These are the questions Ohio’s lazy MSM must ask.

You are such a grandstanding phony. The article makes it clear that Strickland was aware of the rumors you mentioned. He had his staff confront Dann about, Dann lied and denied the whole thing, and Strickland had nothing else to go on.

Are you honestly faulting the Governor for not asking for Dann to resign before the sexual harassment claims were filed and before Dann finally admitted the truth?

What makes you think Strickland would have been in any better position to get Dann out of office then than he is now? If anything, he had even less to go on.

You are seriously stretching your argument, pal.

Marc Dann has hired Opposition Research “Professional” Jason Stanford.

Marc is entrenched and will not be extracted easily.

For those of you that are not familiar opposition research is a specialty that deals with researching personal and political histories (digging up dirt) of politicians.

I recommend reading “Confessions of a Political Hitman”

There is NO DOUBT Dann is going to go after Ted Strickland for the various rumors that circulate about him…not to mention opposition research on Republicans and to confirm rumors of infidelity amongst his own ranks, Dann has plenty of resources to rely upon to begin his “research.”

The “wives club” that he is spliced into, Alyssa Lenhoff is a valuable asset.
Dann fingers will reach broadly over this ball. Serious innuendo of blackmail is going to go down….Just hiring an opposition research firm is “saber rattling”.

Dann WILL “cut the head off the snake” by going after old rumors about Ted Strickland.

Ted Strickland had sugar plum fairy dreams of being Hilary’s V.P.. Rumor were flying around D.C. that Ted was becoming an annoyance pursuing Hillary’s campaign staff, taking them to lunches frequently.

Regardless of his Sherman-esque statement “If drafted, I will not run; if nominated, I will not accept; if elected, I will not serve.” and handing out Sherman cards.

Ted has his eye on the V.P. and no V.P. nominee would prematurely admit to wanting it….”Yeah, I’d like to be #2″

Ted will back down off of Dann, just in case Hillary can pull off some kind of “Come Back Kid” maneuver and win the democratic nomination.

Ted needs straight white male vote, now and forever, and he KNOWS this. He cannot afford to take “hits” from rumors against his character.

Ted Strickland will back down from this fight, Dann will remain AG.

Dion… more unproven BS layered on rumor, topped off with gossip.
Ted doesn’t want to be VP. And besides, I don’t think Clinton is going to be the nominee.

Ted has no interested being the Vice-President because he has no interest running for President. Who else, besides Cheney, would want the job if they aren’t going to run for President?

You can speculate, postulate, and theorize all you want. I’m telling. Ted Strickland is not running for Vice-President. Write it down.

I don’t know, Modern. Everyone at BSB was up in arms in November/December saying that all the Dann affair talk was crazy libel.

I’m not saying that Dion is completely right about everything, but before you dismiss some of those ideas, take a big step back and think it all over. Even though I don’t understand Mrs. Dann’s willingess to stay in the marriage, I would bet my bottom dollar that she knows a lot more than we think. She’s no dummy; she knows when to listen and when to talk. If she needs to talk, she’ll talk big time.

I do agree though that Obama has it nearly wrapped up and there probably isn’t much Strickland interest in being VP, even if there was a Clinton miracle.
