Dann Hires Opposition Research Firm
Published May 9th, 2008 @ 8:39 am. Tags: marc dannMarc Dann, apparently concerned about his political future, has hired a press agent to handle issues not related to work being done in the Ohio Attorney General’s Office.
In other words, ‘‘everything dealing with impeachment and investigations,’’ said Jason Stanford, president of the Texas-based Stanford Campaigns.
Stanford, reached Thursday in Columbus, said he started recently and that he’s being paid from Dann’s campaign fund, which had the slogan of ‘‘Dann for Ohio’’ when he won the office in 2006. Although from Texas, Stanford said common friends of the two got them together.
‘‘Politics is a relatively small community around the country,’’ Stanford said.
Some of the slogans on the company’s Web site are: ‘‘We find. We Spin. You Win’’ and ‘‘No mudslinging. Unless, of course, you’re into that.’’
Other reports from Wednesday noted that Stanfor Campaigns’ motto is, ““We Serve Republicans. Would You Like Them Skewered, Roasted, or Deep Fried?”
At the time, I didn’t think it was worth talking about. But then I thought more about it, and I want to know just exactly what this dirty oppo research firm is up to?
Two things come to mind:
1) Dann may go after Gov. Ted Strickland for being gay.
2) Dann may go after Ohio Democrat Chairman Chris Redfern, who once dated Jessica Utovitch, the same woman who was Dann’s scheduler & seductress. (The Wright State CR’s blogger heard other rumors that Utovitch may have had other interesting boyfriends.)
So as Democrats team up to kill off one of their own, is Dann gearing up to stab them back? Stay tuned!

It’s so amazing how Dann relies so heavily on the patronage system, finding whatever way he can to throw money toward anyone that he thinks he could call in a political favor for in the future, as well as using that patronage to win back support from those who did him favors in the past (Jim Friedman). Dann clearly doesn’t understand how sick we are of Youngstown-style politics.
From what I’ve been told, Dann has his sights set on Strickland and Cordray.
The Plain Dealer has the story, too.

From the PD story, this caught my eye:
_____________________________________________________
Stanford lives in Texas but that he and Dann have mutual friends whom he would not disclose who hooked them up with one another.
“We have friends in common,” Stanford said. “Private friends. People he trusts, trust me.”

Their mysterious connection to each other is reminiscent of mob ties.
I wonder what dirt will be dug up on Stanford. He will probably end up as a sexual deviant. Another liar in Danns group. I wonder if it is going to come out that Dann had other women at the apartment and couldn’t close the curtains. What an idiot.
Daniel Jack Williamson,
Not “mob ties”…. religious ties.
There are more than people from Texas that are doing opposition research and that firm has already been looked into…by republican and democrat SIDES.
Word on State Street is that this is all strategy to throw off the media and VOTERS! Dann MUST stay until September.
1. ODP’s plan is to hold off ejecting Dann until after September when an AG can be appointed rather than holding special elections.
2. Impeachment rouse - Democrats lock stepping against Dann to HOLD OFF get Republicans on impeachment until after September.
3. Appoint an “impartial party” to investigate (Marc Dann sympathizer) to help show there are no grounds for impeachment UNTIL SEPTEMBER.
4. Dann knows he must stay until September and hiring Standford is a ploy to handle the media until September when he steps down before impeachment.
