OH-15: Democrats Worried about Steve Stivers

13. Ohio’s 15th (Open seat, R): Like Paulsen in Minnesota’s 3rd, state Sen. Steve Stivers (R) is one of the few blue chip recruits running on the Republican side this year. And although it’s easy to forget in a year like this, candidates still matter. Franklin County Commissioner Mary Jo Kilroy, who came within 1,000 or so votes of ousting Rep. Deborah Pryce (R) in 2006, is a solid but far from spectacular candidate for Democrats. Kilroy released polling last month that shows her up 47 percent to 37 percent, and that seems right. But even Democrats worry about Stivers’s fundraising ability and popularity within the district. This race will surely tighten.
