When I post true information about Democrats having affairs, I get accused by The Plain Dealer of committing libel and selling pizzas.

But now that it’s official that D. Michael Crites, a highly qualified lawyer who served as a federal prosecutor under Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush who is now the Ohio Republicans’ candidate for Ohio Attorney General, the Ohio Democrats are running scared and are using jobless nosepicker Ohio liberal bloggers to start a false smear campaign.

The first shot was fired by Joseph of Plunderbund (which was echoed by some young kid over at BSB). But the wording and lack of sourcing of his post makes me believe that someone in Democrat circles is feeding him the information:

I did a little research and it turns out that Mr. Crites has some scandals in his past that sound surprisingly similiar [sic] to the stuff we just left behind with Marc Dann.

In 1991 Crites, serving as the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Ohio, hired a woman named Brenda L Dodrill as an assistant U.S. attorney “despite the fact that she had been licensed to practice law only since November 1988 and had no trial experience.”

And why would he do that? Because Dodrill was sleeping with Columbus Mayor Buck Rinehart who was still married to his wife Carol at the time.

Even if that was true, it is HILARIOUS to see libtards talking about people with “no trial experience”, considering that their candidate Richard Cordray also has no criminal trial experience. The Ohio Democrats have actually found someone to run for Attorney General who is less qualified than former AG Marc Dann!

But after looking at articles on LexisNexis, the truth has emerged that Rinehart admitted his affair in 1990, and then separated from his wife in August of that year.  They were granted a dissolution in January 1991. In addition, Brenda Dodrill didn’t resign from the City of Columbus until April 1991, and she was not made an assistant U.S. Attorney until AFTER all of this.

(Associated Press) Republican Greg Lashutka on Tuesday narrowly defeated Democratic Councilman Ben Espy’s bid to become the city’s first black mayor.

Lashutka succeeds Mayor Dana Rinehart, who did not seek a third term after admitting he had an affair with a member of his Cabinet.

With all precincts reporting, Lashutka had 85,233 votes or 52 percent, to Espy’s 77,845 or 48 percent.
Lashutka was city attorney from 1978 until 1985.

Espy has been on the City Council for 10 years.

Rinehart, who in 1989 campaigned for honesty and ethics, admitted having an affair with Human Services Director Brenda Dodrill, who resigned in April. Dodrill divorced her husband and married Rinehart last weekend.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP)  - Mayor Dana Rinehart, who admitted to having an extramarital affair with a Cabinet officer, has officially ended his marriage of 22 years.

Rinehart, 44, and his wife, Carol, were granted a dissolution on Thursday afternoon by Franklin County Domestic Relations Judge Charles R. Petree.

Rinehart, who is in his second four-year term, drew national attention last year when he lied about and then admitted to the affair with city Human Services Director Brenda Dodrill. The previous year, he had promoted a citywide “honesty campaign.”

He and Mrs. Rinehart separated in August.

Rinehart entered the 1991 mayoral campaign Dec. 19, but withdrew this month, saying he expected his political life would be overshadowed by his private life.

Rinehart, who with his wife had three children, agreed to pay child support of $1,120 per month and alimony of $510 per month, according to court documents. They will have joint custody of the children.

“It’s as fair as it could be, I guess,” Mrs. Rinehart said. “Nobody wins in these situations.”

Rinehart’s spokesman David Yost declined to comment on Saturday.

So as you can see, this is a non-issue and hardly comparable to the last AG candidate that Ohio Democrats endorsed, who hired killers and sleazeballs and spent his evenings with young pajama wearing bimbos in a condo having sex while making up nicknames for his penis and chowing down on Hawaiian pizza.

Nice try Ohio Democrats. Better luck with your next false smear attack.
